The design challenge was to take full advantage of the prominent location of the plot, and its immediate context within the lagoon precinct. The client had a set of presented development and real estate objectives, including the task of creating a distinguished living experience that stands out from what is offered in the Abu Dhabi market.
Perched on the edge of the Arabian coastline, this high-end waterfront development offers uninterrupted water views, and creates outdoor spaces whether for the private use of residents or shared amenities within the residential development.
Saraya development offers lively residential communities in a sustainably built environment. With uninterrupted vistas of the waterfront and foreshore districts, the towers are 44 & 40 stories high above a 7-story podium with a double height entry foyer. Smooth, slim and undulating, Saraya echoes the water it towers above, while the curvilinear façade varies in color and shade, according to the location and intensity of the sun.
Other challenges presented themselves throughout the process: this included the coordination of different consultants, along with managing the local Architect of Record to ensure compliance with the design INTENT and the client’s expectations are met. This carried through CONTINUED into the construction stage without compromising the original design intent of the project.
