THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF AIA MIDDLE EAST IN IRAQ

Baghdad, Iraq

It has been my dream to launch the American Institute of Architects - Middle East Chapter in Baghdad-Iraq.
Remembering very well the times when I felt powerless, it is no surprise that empowerment is my passion. I practice empowerment not only in my leadership roles and activities; I empower clients through the designs and the visions I create.

For me the launch of the AIA ME in Iraq would empower Iraqi architects practicing in Iraq and the region by giving them access to AIA resources, continuing education, best design standards and professional contracts. It will open up opportunities and venues for knowledge sharing and visibility of their work in Iraq and elsewhere, to have stronger ties to other regional and international architects, to establish conduits for communication, to empower its members to serve society, to inspire them for the creation of better environments, to collaborate and engage in the general advancement of one’s own self, others and the society at large.

As being part of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) that dates back to 1857, AIA ME was established to extend the services of the AIA to its members practicing in the MENA region, and to uphold a high standard of design, education and professional practice among its members.
